The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) has introduced new rules to protect the soil in Abu Dhabi. These rules aim to make sure that soil is managed in a way that keeps it healthy and safe for use now and in the future. They also help reduce pollution caused by soil damage.

The rules follow Law No. (16) of 2005, which gives EAD the power to create new rules and decisions. This law helps to reduce pollution and protect the air, water, soil, and natural resources in the area. It also makes sure these resources are used properly while keeping people and nature safe. EAD worked with other organizations in Abu Dhabi to make these rules.
The new rules apply to protected areas, unused land, and places that may be polluted. They also cover areas with environmental licenses for businesses or projects. The rules set out how soil should be in protected areas and what businesses and projects need to do to avoid harming the soil, people, and nature.
The EAD will use these rules to get information about soil quality in different areas, especially where businesses or projects are planned. They will regularly check the soil and inspect the places to make sure the rules are followed.
Dr. Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, the Secretary General of EAD, said the new rules are part of a plan to protect the environment. The rules will help prevent harm from activities like building and tourism. EAD wants to make sure the environment is safe for future generations.
Dr. Al Dhaheri also said that EAD will work with other important groups to make sure the rules are followed. This will help keep the soil and environment safe.
