Trump shared that PM Modi plans to visit the United States in February. He told reporters, "I had a long talk with him this morning. He will visit the White House next month. We have a very good relationship with India."

The topic of immigration also came up. Trump said PM Modi would handle the issue of Indian people living in the US without permission. He said Modi will "do what’s right" about this matter.

Trump encouraged India to buy more American security products. Both leaders discussed making trade between the countries more equal. The US is India’s largest trade partner, and trade between them was worth $118 billion last year, with India having a $32 billion trade surplus.

PM Modi praised Trump on social media, calling him a "dear friend." Modi said both countries are working together for the good of their people and for global peace and security. He added that they will meet soon.

The leaders also talked about important issues like technology, business, and defense. They agreed to stay in contact and meet at a convenient time. They both showed support for the Quad group, which includes the US, India, Japan, and Australia. India will host the next Quad meeting this year.

Trump spoke about immigration concerns again, saying PM Modi would help with sending back Indian people living in the US without permission. Reports suggest there are about 18,000 Indian immigrants in the US illegally. Trump said he is open to skilled workers from India coming to the US legally, as many Indians are known for their expertise in technology jobs.

Last week, the US Secretary of State discussed immigration with India’s Foreign Minister. Trump wants to control illegal immigration but supports bringing skilled workers to America legally.
