Imperial College London Diabetes Centre (ICLDC), which is part of M42, is using new technology to improve diabetes care. The centre has signed two important agreements to help give better care to people with diabetes. These agreements were signed at the Arab Health 2025 event.

The first agreement is with Medtronic, a company that provides healthcare technology. ICLDC already takes care of more than 1,000 patients in Abu Dhabi using Medtronic's CareLink platform. Now, ICLDC will switch to Medtronic’s better platforms called CareConnect and GALAXY, which offer many new features.

CareConnect is easier for patients to use. It allows caregivers to get updates about important things like high or low glucose levels or device problems. It can send these updates to a phone or tablet, so caregivers can act fast when needed. The system helps reduce the need for patients to visit the clinic in person, making follow-up care easier. It also helps doctors decide which patients need care the most.

ICLDC will also use Medtronic's GALAXY platform. This platform provides detailed reports and data about a patient’s health, helping doctors give the best care. GALAXY helps doctors track trends and find important health patterns. This way, they can make better decisions to help people with diabetes.

To make all this technology work together better, ICLDC is also working with Karaz, a healthcare platform. Right now, caregivers have to check many different systems to see patient data. Karaz will combine all the data into one place, so caregivers can work faster and more efficiently.

Karaz also uses smart tools to predict patient needs before they happen. This helps doctors and patients stay ahead of any problems. When Karaz’s predictions are combined with data from GALAXY, it helps doctors get a full picture of a patient’s health.

Dr. Mai Al Jaber, CEO of Outpatient Care at M42, said, "Today is a big day for us as we make diabetes care better. The partnership with Medtronic helps us give better care to patients and allows us to focus on patients who need it most. By using CareConnect, GALAXY, and Karaz, we are making diabetes care better and faster. We are not just using technology; we are improving how patients live with diabetes and helping them control their health."

These new partnerships will improve the care that people with diabetes receive. The goal is to make it easier for patients to get the care they need, without many clinic visits, and allow caregivers to track health in real time. This shows how technology is changing healthcare for the better, helping people live healthier lives.
