Novak Djokovic, the world’s number six tennis player, has decided not to play in Serbia’s upcoming Davis Cup match because of an injury. This match is set to take place from January 31 to February 2 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Djokovic injured his hamstring during his semi-final match at the Australian Open against Alexander Zverev last week. He had to stop playing because of the pain. When the crowd at the tennis match booed him, Djokovic posted a photo of his injured hamstring on social media. He added, "Thought I’d leave this here for all the sports injury ‘experts’ out there."

At 37 years old, Djokovic was an important part of the Serbian team that won the Davis Cup in 2010. Though he won't play, Serbia’s captain Viktor Troicki still believes in the team. He said, “It’s disappointing not to have Novak with us, but we are still aiming to win. Denmark has a strong player in Holger Rune, but our players are also great, and I trust them.”

Even though Djokovic will miss this match, he is focusing on recovering from his injury so he can return to play in future tennis events.
