The meeting, held at the Joint Operations Centre near Burj Khalifa, was chaired by Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, the Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations and Chair of Dubai's Events Security Committee. Al Ghaithi underscored the significance of the event, emphasizing the global media attention it attracts, positioning Dubai alongside other major international New Year’s celebrations.

During the meeting, committee members reviewed security strategies and logistical plans based on experiences from previous years. They discussed several critical aspects, including the layout of public viewing zones, placement of entry and exit points, parking arrangements, and transport routes. A key priority was to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of people, particularly around Burj Khalifa, where the majority of the celebrations take place.

Major General Al Ghaithi highlighted the importance of controlling crowds to prevent congestion in and around the event area. With large numbers of people expected to attend, the committee also looked at measures to cater to families and individuals, ensuring they have a positive and safe experience while attending the fireworks display.

Another crucial element of the planning process was the emphasis on hospitality and professionalism among event staff. Al Ghaithi stressed that the welcoming spirit of Dubai is vital to making the event a success and ensuring that visitors feel safe and enjoy their time at the celebration. He commended the committee for its growing expertise in managing large-scale events, noting that their experience will be invaluable in addressing any challenges that arise during the event.

The meeting also saw the participation of several key figures, including Mishal Abdul Karim Julfar, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, and representatives from various Dubai government agencies. It was clear from the discussions that the success of the New Year’s Eve celebrations is a collaborative effort across all sectors, with each agency working together to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees.
