The Stern School of Business at NYU Abu Dhabi, called Stern at NYUAD, has started. This business school is a teamwork between New York University Stern School of Business and NYU Abu Dhabi. A special event was held to celebrate this big moment, and guests were shown around the new school building at NYUAD. Many important people came to the event, including government leaders, business experts, and university members. Some of the special guests were Minister of Community Development Shamma bint Sohail Al Mazrui, NYU Trustee Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, and NYU Trustee Rima Al Mokarrab. Other important guests included UAE Ambassador to the US Yousef Al Otaiba, Chairman of the Department of Government Enablement Ahmed Tamim Al Kuttab, and US Ambassador to the UAE Martina Strong. Many business leaders, NYU officials, and teachers also joined the event.

NYU Stern is the top-ranked business school in the world that offers a full-time MBA in the UAE and the MENA region. Students who finish their studies at Stern at NYUAD will get a full MBA degree, given by both NYU Stern and NYU Abu Dhabi. This degree will connect them to a worldwide group of past students from more than 130 countries, helping them find good jobs everywhere.
Rima Al Mokarrab said that starting the Stern School of Business at NYU Abu Dhabi shows the strong bond between NYU and Abu Dhabi. She said both places want to create future business leaders and thinkers. She also said this new school will make Abu Dhabi an even bigger center for business and ideas.
The first group of students in this MBA program has 54 very smart people. These students come from 25 countries, with most from the UAE and the United States. Many students are also from India, China, and Pakistan. The students have an average GPA of 3.6, which shows their good grades. They also have an average of five years of work experience. Some have worked at big companies and government offices like Aldar, Bain & Company, Intel, KPMG, JP Morgan, and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.
NYU President Linda G. Mills said that the first group of MBA students at Stern at NYUAD represents the future of business leadership. She said this program shows NYU’s promise to give high-quality education and to help students gain the right skills and connections to succeed in today’s fast-changing business world.
Stern at NYUAD has hired excellent teachers, all of whom have PhDs from some of the world’s best business schools like NYU, MIT, London Business School, HEC Paris, Harvard Business School, Wharton, and INSEAD. So far, 11 top full-time teachers have joined. They will teach and do research in Abu Dhabi.
Fabio Piano, Interim Vice Chancellor of NYU Abu Dhabi, said that opening Stern at NYUAD is a big step in NYUAD’s goal to be a world leader in education and help the UAE grow. He said that for the past 15 years, NYUAD has set new learning standards, and this new MBA program is another step toward bigger success. He believes this program will help the UAE’s economy by training people to lead with new ideas, a global way of thinking, and a strong sense of purpose.
The MBA program at Stern at NYUAD has 54 credits, allowing students to finish in just one year. This is different from the usual two-year MBA programs, making it a fast and smart choice for young professionals. The program is made to prepare students for leadership roles in private and public jobs in the UAE and beyond.
As part of their studies, students will have learning sessions in both Abu Dhabi and New York City. This will give them world exposure and a chance to learn from top business leaders in the UAE and across the world. A key part of the program is that students will work on real business projects with big companies like Microsoft, Hub71, Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), and Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. These projects will give students important hands-on experience and help them learn real business skills.
J.P. Eggers, Dean of NYU Stern School of Business, said he is excited about working with NYU Abu Dhabi to create this special MBA program. He said the program is made to match the needs of students and employers in the MENA region. He also said that the program is built on NYU Stern’s strong name for high-quality education and research, making sure students get a top learning experience.
Robert Salomon is leading the program as Dean of Stern at NYUAD. He is a respected professor and expert in global business plans with more than 25 years of experience. He has been a teacher at NYU Stern since 2005 and was Vice Dean for Executive Programs. He also wrote a well-known book, *Global Vision: How Companies Can Overcome the Pitfalls of Globalization.*
Dean Robert Salomon shared his goal for Stern at NYUAD. He said that the aim is to create skilled professionals who will help the UAE and the MENA region’s economy grow. He believes the program will meet the growing need for smart business leaders in this fast-changing area. By joining NYU’s worldwide reach, Stern’s top education, and Abu Dhabi’s role as a business hub, the program is made to give students an excellent learning journey. He added that the program will train students with the right knowledge, skills, and experiences to bring new ideas and shape the future of world business.
