The Ramadan Majlis, organised by the Sharjah Press Club (SPC) under the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), is completing 15 years as a key platform for open discussion and community engagement in Sharjah.
Over the years, the Majlis has become a respected space where people connect through culture, ideas, and knowledge exchange. It has hosted constructive discussions on topics that matter to the public, featuring intellectuals, creatives, and professionals from different sectors.
So far, the Ramadan Majlis has held 85 sessions covering themes such as culture, sports, arts, health, and other community-related topics. More than 230 speakers have participated, helping the Majlis maintain strong public interest and audience engagement.
Ramadan Majlis 2026 Dates and Venue
The 2026 Ramadan Majlis will take place at Aljada from 22 to 26 February, with sessions held after Taraweeh prayers. This year’s programme includes discussions on literature, thought, personal development, health, and travel, along with other accompanying activities.
Full Schedule of Sessions
Sunday, 22 February
Poet and content creator Abdullah Al Enezi (Abu Aseel) will take part in the opening session titled “Beyond the Poem: Untold Stories that Shaped Poetry”, moderated by media presenter Hamed Mohammadi.
The session will explore life experiences and defining moments that shape poetry and the stories behind literary works.
A poetry evening will also be held featuring poet Saif Al Mansouri, where he will reflect on his journey and how he expresses human experiences through language.
Tuesday, 24 February – Personal Development
Writer and content creator Mshari Bodraid will lead a session titled “How Do We Become the Best Versions of Ourselves?”, moderated by media professional Abdul Raouf Amira.
The discussion will focus on self-improvement through practical methods, building positive habits, and achieving personal growth while maintaining identity.
Later, writer and poet Awad Al Darmaki will present “The Path to Staying Calm in a Fast-Paced World”, sharing ways to manage daily stress, improve prioritisation, and build a calmer relationship with oneself and others based on real-life experiences.
Wednesday, 25 February – Health and Wellness
Professor Dr. Hany Abdel Gawwad, consultant spine surgeon, will speak on “Children’s Spinal Health: From Prevention to Early Detection”.
He will explain how daily habits affect children’s spinal health and how families can identify early warning signs.
Dr. Adil Sajwani, family medicine consultant physician, will present “Thriving in a Busy Life: Public Health and Quality of Life”, focusing on lifestyle impacts on physical health and sharing practical advice for improving wellness and preventing common health issues.
Thursday, 26 February – Travel and Human Experiences
The final day will focus on travel and life experiences, moderated by media professional Yousif Al Hammadi.
Travel content creator Farrah Al Ayedi will lead “The Joy of Travel: Live the Experience, Don’t Just Capture It”, highlighting how travel can be more meaningful through planning, exploring cultures, and connecting with communities.
Traveller Abdulaziz Bin Huweidan will present “The Journey that Stays with Us”, discussing how journeys shape thinking, relationships, and perspectives, and how some experiences continue even after returning home.
Tariq Allay’s Statement
His Excellency Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of SGMB, said the Ramadan Majlis was created as a valuable community space. He noted that over the years it has brought together culture, ideas, and human experiences through sessions that reflect people’s interests and daily concerns.
He added that this year’s programme continues the same approach, with sessions designed around public interests and the Majlis’s role as a community platform.
The Sharjah Press Club continues to support and organise initiatives that benefit journalists, media professionals, and the wider community, encouraging learning and intellectual impact.
