QatarEnergy Halts LNG Output After Military Attack

QatarEnergy has suspended the production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and related products following military attacks on its operational facilities in the State of Qatar.

According to a press release carried by the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the attacks targeted QatarEnergy’s sites in Ras Laffan Industrial City and Mesaieed Industrial City. As a result of the damage and security concerns, the company decided to halt LNG output until further notice.

In its official statement, QatarEnergy confirmed that production was stopped due to the military offensive on its facilities. The company did not provide details about the extent of the damage or when operations are expected to resume.

QatarEnergy also said it values its relationship with stakeholders and will continue to share updates as more information becomes available.

Qatar is one of the world’s leading exporters of LNG, and any disruption to its production could have an impact on global energy markets. Authorities have not yet released further details about the situation.
