Several schools in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, received bomb threat emails on Monday, prompting immediate evacuations and investigations, news agency ANI reported. Citing the District Education Officer (DEO), searches were launched at affected schools to ensure student safety.
According to the DEO, the emails not only contained bomb threats but also mentioned a plan for “turning India into Khalistan.” Over 25 schools across the city reportedly received these threatening emails. After receiving the emails, schools coordinated with local authorities and evacuated campuses as a precaution.
Officials confirmed that no suspicious objects or explosives have been found so far during the searches. Reacting to the incident, Gujarat Minister Rivaba Jadeja said: “The government is serious about the bomb threats. All threats received against schools and other places are taken seriously. The state government is investigating the bomb threats.”
This is not the first incident of its kind. In January 2026, days before Republic Day, several Ahmedabad schools had received similar bomb threat emails, according to the city’s crime branch.
The recent threats follow a pattern seen in other cities, including Delhi, where several schools received bomb threat emails earlier this week. Schools such as BT Tamil School, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, and the British School reported threats, with police confirming that calls began around 9:12 am.
Authorities are continuing investigations to trace the source of these emails and ensure that schools remain safe for students and staff.
