Thousands of pro-Palestine demonstrators gathered outside the fenced White House on Saturday as part of a planned weekend protest. Their main demands included an immediate end to the Israel-Gaza conflict and a condemnation of the Biden administration's support for Israel. The demonstrators, estimated to be around 30,000, began arriving at the heavily guarded Executive Mansion around noon.
The scene was filled with protesters dressed mostly in red attire, carrying signs and banners with messages such as 'End the siege on Gaza now', 'Free Palestine', and 'End US Military funding to Israel'. Some protesters formed a symbolic 'red line' around the White House to represent Israel's actions in Rafah, a city in southern Gaza where thousands of Palestinians have sought refuge amid the conflict.

Visuals of the demonstration flooded social media platforms, showcasing the scale of the protest and the passionate voices of those participating. Despite the peaceful nature of the protest, some videos captured instances of protesters igniting and tossing smoke flares outside the White House gates, while others threw flare bombs onto the White House lawn.
Law enforcement agencies, including the Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department and the Secret Service, were present to monitor the situation. They confirmed that no arrests had been made, but road closures were implemented, especially on routes leading directly to the White House.
It's noteworthy that President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden were not in the residence during the protest, as they were in France for a trip commemorating D-Day. The demonstration is part of a larger wave of pro-Palestine protests that have been ongoing in the US for months. These protests have included university sit-ins, marches in Washington, vigils near the White House, and disruptions of transportation infrastructure in various cities.
Additionally, the Biden administration's stance on Israel has been met with criticism from within, with reports indicating that at least eight officials have resigned from their positions in opposition to the administration's Israel policy. This demonstration outside the White House reflects the growing concern and activism surrounding the Israel-Gaza conflict within the United States.
