Hamdan bin Mohammed Meets Kurdistan Region's Prime Minister in Dubai

Dubai, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the UAE, met with His Excellency Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, on the first day of the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2025 in Dubai.

During their meeting, Sheikh Hamdan and Prime Minister Barzani discussed ways to strengthen the relationship between the UAE and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. They explored new opportunities for cooperation in different areas, including trade, investment, and tourism. The discussion also focused on increasing economic partnerships that would help both sides achieve long-term development goals.

Both leaders agreed on the importance of boosting trade exchanges, attracting investments, and creating new business opportunities that would benefit their people. They emphasized the need to work together in key sectors that support economic growth and sustainable development.

Sheikh Hamdan and Prime Minister Barzani also exchanged views on important regional and international matters. They talked about current global challenges and how countries can work together to solve them. The leaders highlighted the importance of international platforms like the World Governments Summit in bringing nations together to share knowledge, ideas, and solutions for a better future.

The meeting was attended by several high-ranking UAE officials, including His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman & CEO of Emirates Airline and Group; His Excellency Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications; His Excellency Abdulla Al Basti, Secretary General of The Executive Council of Dubai; His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority; and His Excellency Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism.
