On January 26, Billy Ray posted a clip of his 2009 song “Somebody Said a Prayer” on his official YouTube channel. This song featured his son Trace, whom Billy Ray adopted in 1993 after marrying his ex-wife, Tish Cyrus. Billy and Tish divorced in 2022, but they have five children together: Brandi, Trace, Miley, Braison, and Noah. Billy also has a son named Christopher from a previous relationship.

In his post, Billy Ray thanked the rains in California, which helped after the wildfires. He prayed for people who were hurt by the fires and said a prayer for his children. He wrote, “Let this moment be the start of healing for us all,” and added, “The past does not equal the future. Amen.” This message showed his wish for the family to heal and move forward.

Billy Ray’s post came after Trace wrote an open letter on January 22. In his letter, Trace shared his worries about his father’s health after a video of Billy Ray acting strangely at a public event went viral. Trace said he and his siblings were scared they might lose their father too soon. He mentioned that they no longer recognized the man Billy Ray had become, but they still had good memories of who he used to be. Trace ended his letter by saying, “I hope you realize this message only comes from a place of love.”

A source close to Miley Cyrus said she is doing well and wants to stay away from the family drama.
