After the meeting, Zelenskiy thanked America for its support. He said he was grateful to President Biden, Congress, and the American people. He also said Ukraine wants fair and lasting peace and is working hard to make that happen.

Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Russia’s attack on Ukraine was wrong and unfair. He praised the courage of Ukrainians, saying they are fighting for freedom and democracy, which is important for the whole world. Germany also promised to stand with Ukraine, with Chancellor Olaf Scholz saying that no one wants peace more than the Ukrainian people and that Germany and Europe will continue to support them.

French President Emmanuel Macron, speaking in Portugal, said Russia started the war, and Ukraine is only defending itself. He said that three years ago, the world made the right choice by helping Ukraine and punishing Russia with sanctions. He believes this support must not stop.

Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni warned that if Western countries do not stay united, it will only help those who want their power to weaken. She said that Western countries should come together for a big meeting to talk about how they will handle important problems, including the war in Ukraine. A spokesperson for Britain’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that he continues to fully support Ukraine and is working for lasting peace.

Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said his country will keep supporting Ukraine because it is fighting not just against Russia, but against a leader, Vladimir Putin, who wants to take control of more than just Ukraine. Denmark’s Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen said the White House meeting was hard to watch. He said friends can have tough talks, but when such talks happen on live TV, the only person who benefits is Vladimir Putin.

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev mocked the meeting and called it a harsh scolding for Zelenskiy in the Oval Office. Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban, however, praised Trump, saying that strong leaders bring peace while weak leaders cause war. He said Trump took a brave step for peace, even if some people did not like it.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen told Zelenskiy that he is not alone and praised the bravery of the Ukrainian people. She promised that support for Ukraine would continue. Moldova’s President Maia Sandu said the truth is simple: Russia attacked Ukraine, Russia is the enemy, and Ukraine is fighting not just for itself, but for the freedom of others too. She said Moldova stands with Ukraine.

Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof said that the Netherlands will not stop supporting Ukraine and that peace will only come when Russia ends its aggression. Czech President Petr Pavel said Europe must do more to help Ukraine. Estonia’s Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said the only reason there is no peace is because Vladimir Putin refuses to stop the war. He said if Russia stops fighting, the war will end, but if Ukraine stops fighting, Ukraine will disappear. Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk also sent a message to Zelenskiy, telling him that Ukraine is not alone.

A German leader, Johann Wadephul, said the White House meeting was shocking. He criticized Trump, saying it was wrong to turn against the leader of a country that is being attacked. He said Europe will not betray Ukraine.

The meeting between Zelenskiy and Trump has caused strong reactions from leaders all over the world. Most Western countries are still standing with Ukraine, but some leaders, like Orban, support Trump’s way of handling things. The world is now watching to see what will happen next.
