His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, visited the headquarters of Dubai Customs. He reviewed its key plans to improve customs work and make operations smoother.
During the visit, Sheikh Mansoor spoke about how Dubai Customs plays a vital role in keeping the city safe. He praised their hard work in securing border crossings and ensuring smooth trade. He said that Dubai Customs' efforts support Dubai’s goal of becoming one of the world’s top cities for business and trade.

Accompanying Sheikh Mansoor on the visit were Dr. Abdulla Busenad, Director General of Dubai Customs, and Omar Ali Salem Al Maidoor, Secretary General of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council. They discussed the importance of working together to improve border security and customs services.
Sheikh Mansoor said, “Following the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, we are dedicated to keeping our border crossings safe and efficient.” He praised Dubai Customs for its continuous efforts to introduce new strategies that strengthen its position in the customs sector. He also highlighted the importance of Dubai Customs’ role in supporting the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to boost economic growth.
He added that Dubai Customs works closely with government agencies to prepare for future challenges. Through advanced technology and innovative solutions, Dubai aims to stay ahead in global trade and security. He expressed appreciation for the department’s projects, which focus on modernizing customs operations.
During the visit, Sheikh Mansoor received a detailed presentation from Dr. Abdulla Busenad about Dubai Customs’ major projects. These projects are being developed under the guidance of Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation.
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem thanked Sheikh Mansoor for his visit and support. He said that strong leadership helps government agencies improve their work. He also emphasized that improving customs operations strengthens Dubai’s position as a leading trade hub.
Dr. Abdulla Busenad said, “Dubai Customs is always working on new ideas and using modern technology to boost efficiency and security. Our goal is to support Dubai’s vision for the future.”
Omar Ali Salem Al Maidoor, Secretary General of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, highlighted the need for teamwork in border security. He said that Sheikh Mansoor stressed the importance of cooperation between Dubai Customs and the Ports and Borders Security Council to ensure smooth and effective security operations.
One of the major projects discussed was the Hatta Gateway project. The design for this project has been officially approved. The project will introduce modern security systems using advanced technology, including artificial intelligence. The goal is to expand the capacity of the customs centre at the border, making it more prepared to handle future security challenges.
Sheikh Mansoor’s visit reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing customs operations and border security. His support for Dubai Customs’ initiatives will help drive growth, improve security, and ensure Dubai remains a top global trade hub.
