Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Governments Summit Organisation, shared that the summit has grown into the world’s largest and most influential platform for governments over the last 12 years. This achievement is thanks to the guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.

Speaking during the dialogue at the Museum of the Future in Dubai, Al Gergawi said that it is because of a unique vision that the summit came into being as it was based on foreseeing future planning and that individuals were being empowered with a strong community building character. The summit also encourages unity worldwide to work towards common prosperity with everyone.

This year, the summit will host over 30 heads of state, 80 international organizations, 140 government delegations, and over 6,000 participants, including experts from around the world. The event will include 21 forums covering important future trends and 200 interactive sessions, featuring over 300 prominent speakers. Additionally, more than 30 ministerial meetings will gather 400 ministers to discuss and release 30 strategic reports developed with the summit’s international knowledge partners.

Al Gergawi also revealed the participation of key world leaders, such as Prabowo Subianto, President of Indonesia; Andrzej Duda, President of Poland; Gustavo Petro, President of Colombia; Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia; and Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, among many others.

The summit has become a leading platform where leaders, experts, and innovators come together to discuss the future and address challenges facing humanity.

Among the international leaders attending, there will be Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund; Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union; and Rafael Grossi, Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, to name a few.

Participants also include some of the world's leading industry leaders in areas of major global industries, such as Sundar Pichai, Google CEO; Michael Miebach, CEO of Mastercard; and Pascal Soriot, AstraZeneca CEO. Their inputs will be crucial in discussing the futures of the tech, health, and finance fields.

The summit will be the largest ever, with over 50% more attendees than last year. This diverse gathering will include representatives from every continent, highlighting the summit’s role as a unifying platform for governments around the world. It aims to drive progress in economic, social, and governmental areas to ensure a better future for all.

In addition to heads of state, the summit will see leaders from organizations such as the Arab Monetary Fund, the OPEC Fund for International Development, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The main themes of the summit will include six important areas: Governance, Financing the Future, Climate and Crisis Management, Human-Centric Futures, Global Health, and Emerging Frontiers. Topics for discussions will include Artificial Intelligence, Government Services, Education, and the Future of Work.

A key part of the event will be various ministerial meetings and forums, such as the Arab Youth Ministers Meeting and the Latin American and MENA countries' high-level meeting on investment. These gatherings will allow governments to share their insights and work together on solutions for global challenges.

Another tradition at the World Government Summit is recognizing contributions toward a better future. Among such recognitions are the Best Minister in the World Award, the Global Government Excellence Award, and the Best Teacher in the World Award.

Finally, the summit will publish 30 strategic reports, developed together with leading research institutions, including new ideas and models to better prepare governments to face future challenges and build a stronger, sustainable society.

Therefore, the 12th edition of the World Governments Summit has all the qualities of an historic and exciting encounter, bringing to the table a global leadership view on the governments' future development and the means to address big issues for an even better world.
