New Delhi, September 26, 2025: Former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Sameer Wankhede has filed a defamation suit against the web series B**ds of Bollywood*, produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and streamed on Netflix. The series, directed by Aryan Khan, son of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, allegedly maligns Wankhede’s reputation.
The Delhi High Court will hear the case on Friday before Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav. The suit demands Rs 2 crore in damages, which Wankhede has requested to be donated to the Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital for cancer patients.

Wankhede’s petition claims that the series portrays anti-drug enforcement agencies negatively, potentially eroding public trust in law enforcement institutions. He also objects to a scene where a character raises the middle finger after chanting the national slogan “Satyamev Jayate,” alleging it violates the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971.
Aryan Khan was arrested in October 2021 following a drugs raid conducted by the NCB’s Mumbai unit, headed by Wankhede. The raid took place on a cruise ship off Mumbai’s coast and led to the arrest of Aryan Khan and several others on charges of drug consumption and conspiracy.
According to the arrest memo, Aryan Khan was accused of involvement in the consumption, sale, and purchase of contraband. The NCB reported seizing 13 grams of cocaine, 5 grams of MD, 21 grams of charas, 22 MDMA (ecstasy) pills, and Rs 1.33 lakh in cash during the raid. The case was registered under Sections 8(c), 20(b), 27, and 35 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The Delhi High Court is scheduled to hear Wankhede’s defamation case against Red Chillies Entertainment and Netflix this Friday.
