Dubai – In the United Arab Emirates, a country known for its balance between modern progress and rich traditions, one woman is changing the way people think about fertility.
Bouchra Izaabel, Clinic Manager at FertiClinic in Ras Al Khaimah, is making history as the Middle East’s first certified Arabic-speaking IVF Doula.
Her mission is very clear: she wants to give women in the Arab world a voice, comfort, and the courage to face one of life’s most sensitive and emotional journeys — the journey to becoming a mother. She believes that every woman deserves not just medical help, but also emotional support, understanding, and dignity during this time.
Bouchra’s journey didn’t start inside hospitals or medical offices. It began at home, during her childhood. She remembers seeing the women in her family support one another with strength, patience, and unconditional love. Those early images shaped the way she saw the world.
“Motherhood and fertility were always present in my culture,” she says. From a young age, she understood how deeply important they were, and how much emotion was connected to them.
Her compassion became even stronger when she saw, for the first time, someone close to her struggle with infertility. She didn’t just watch; she felt their pain inside her own heart. That moment taught her that fertility challenges are not just physical problems — they are silent emotional battles that many women fight every day. It was this experience that planted the seed of her calling.
Interestingly, Bouchra’s career path did not begin in fertility care. Life seemed to be leading her in another direction. But sometimes, life has its own plans.
“Becoming a Doula was not something I planned,” she admits. “It was a calling.”
When she looked at the Arab world, she saw something missing: conversations about IVF and fertility in Arabic. Women were searching for guidance, but the information was often in other languages. It was almost as if their voices had been left out of the discussion.
“The turning point,” she recalls, “was seeing the quiet tears of women who felt completely alone.” In that moment, she made herself a promise — that she would stand with these women, give them a voice, and remind them that their story was not finished.
For Bouchra, being an IVF Doula is not about strict schedules or medical routines. It is about emotions. Her days are filled with listening carefully, explaining complicated medical words in a simple way, and most importantly, creating a safe space for women to express their fears.
“The most powerful moments,” she says, “are when fear melts into hope.”
She recalls one particular woman who later told her, with tears in her eyes, that her child was “born out of hope.” Those words touched Bouchra deeply and continue to inspire her every day.
Her work is more than medical support. It is emotional, cultural, and deeply human.
In the Middle East, fertility and IVF have long been subjects that people hesitate to talk about openly. For years, these topics lived in silence, often surrounded by stigma. But Bouchra decided to take the brave step of speaking about them publicly.
At first, the response was mixed — some people resisted, others were unsure. But she used the tools of kindness, honesty, and education to keep the conversation alive. Slowly, she began to see hearts opening and attitudes changing.
“The moment I knew things were shifting,” she explains, “was when women themselves began to share their journeys freely.”
Today, thanks to her advocacy campaigns, workshops, and awareness programs, many women and couples are embracing hope again. Communities that once viewed fertility with shame are now beginning to show support.
Bouchra’s influence goes beyond the clinic. She has built a strong digital presence, using social media as a kind of “digital clinic” where women can learn, ask, and feel connected.
Some of the most touching messages she receives are simple but powerful. Women often write to her saying: “You made me feel less alone.”
For Bouchra, this feedback is everything. It means her mission is working. By providing fertility education in Arabic, she has opened the doors of knowledge to women who once felt excluded. “It has given women access to information in a language that feels safe and close to their hearts,” she explains.
Bouchra is also a leader and a speaker. When she stands on stage at expos, conferences, and women’s health forums across the GCC, she feels not just pride but also responsibility.
“On stage, I feel gratitude and responsibility,” she shares. “Every word has the power to touch a woman who might be silently hurting.”
Through her charitable work and initiatives, she has also reached women who have the fewest resources but the strongest determination. “To see them find hope,” she says, “is my greatest reward.”
If asked to describe her life in three words, Bouchra does not hesitate: Compassion. Courage. Hope.
And when she thinks of the future, her wish is simple yet powerful. Fifty years from now, she hopes to be remembered not for her titles or positions, but for her impact:
“As someone who gave women strength, broke barriers of silence, and left behind a legacy of love and empowerment.”
Today, as a proud voice of the UAE, Bouchra Izaabel is not only pioneering fertility support but also reshaping the way society talks about it.
Every consultation she gives, every online post she shares, and every tear she wipes away is not just part of her work — it is part of a larger legacy of love and empowerment.
Because in her own words:
“Every journey to parenthood is unique. My role is to walk beside each family — to turn uncertainty into hope, and hope into new beginnings.”
This is not just her personal story. It is a story of the UAE — a story of compassion, courage, and change — told through the voice of Bouchra Izaabel.
