At first glance, 14-year-old Aarav Trivedi appears to be a quiet, observant student at La Senda Global Academy in Abu Dhabi. His gentle eyes follow the world carefully, as though storing away details most of us would overlook. But behind this calm presence lies a universe of poetry, imagination, and empathy — a world that found its voice through writing and, in doing so, touched countless lives.
This is the story of a boy whose words travelled from the pages of private notebooks to the shelves of readers across the globe. And it is also the story of his mother, Palak, whose love and belief transformed personal challenges into a movement of hope and inclusion: Zen Zone – Where Every Step Counts.
From the earliest days, Palak sensed that her son experienced life differently. Aarav did not always respond to his name. Eye contact was fleeting. He could spend hours turning the wheels of a toy car, lost in its spinning motion.
For many parents, these moments might have sparked anxiety or comparison. But Palak — a dedicated educator with a specialisation in special needs — listened to her instincts.
“It wasn’t about comparison,” she recalls. “It was about listening to that quiet voice inside me that said, ‘Let’s understand him better.’”
By Grade 5, Aarav was diagnosed on the mild autism spectrum. For some, the word “autism” is loaded with fear. For Palak, it brought clarity. It gave her the language and tools to understand her son’s unique world — a place rich with textures, emotions, and extraordinary creativity.
Aarav became his mother’s greatest teacher. He taught her that communication is not only about spoken words. Connection can happen in the pauses, in shared silences, in the small rituals of daily life.
“He’s shown me that beauty lives in details most of us rush past,” Palak says. “Patience isn’t waiting — it’s watching the world with open eyes and an open heart.”
Through him, she learned to slow down, to look closer, to notice the magic hiding in plain sight.
The turning point came in Grade 2. Aarav took part in a school storytelling competition. While most children recited familiar tales, Aarav presented an original story — his own. His words were vivid, imaginative, and layered with emotion. The judges were captivated. He won first prize.
That day, something unlocked. Writing became Aarav’s sanctuary, his bridge to the world. During the COVID-19 lockdown, his stories began appearing in Zoomerang Online Magazine. Soon after, his dream came true: his debut collection, Window to My World, was published.
Palak remembers that moment with crystal clarity:
“He held the book and traced his fingers over his name on the cover, almost checking if it was real. His eyes sparkled. In that moment, I knew we had crossed from doubt into possibility.”
What began as one book grew into a collection. By the age of 14, Aarav had published nine books, each filled with empathy, nature-inspired imagery, and quiet resilience.
Aarav’s extraordinary literary talent has earned him recognition both nationally and internationally:
These are not just medals and certificates — they are proof that Aarav’s quiet words are reaching far beyond his own world, touching hearts across continents.
Raising Aarav was a journey of transformation for Palak. She encountered not just the practical challenges — sensory sensitivities, social misunderstandings, emotional hurdles — but also the larger gap in how society understands and supports neurodiverse children.
“I realised it wasn’t just about therapies and checklists,” she says. “It was about acceptance, inclusion, and creating safe spaces where children like Aarav could be celebrated for who they are.”
This realization became the foundation for Zen Zone – Where Every Step Counts.
Zen Zone is more than an educational centre; it’s a compassionate movement that challenges stereotypes and builds community. Among its offerings:
Beyond writing, Aarav has extended his empathy into action. He collaborates with the Kitaab Organisation, providing books and learning materials to underprivileged children.
“He knows what it feels like to be different,” Palak says. “Helping others feel seen is his way of giving back.”
His latest book series, told from the perspective of a neurodivergent child, promotes empathy, environmental care, and inner strength — furthering his mission to inspire understanding and acceptance.
Palak’s journey with Aarav has transformed her from educator to advocate, from mother to changemaker.
“When we stop trying to ‘fix’ children and start seeing their brilliance, something beautiful happens — they bloom. And so do we,” she says.
Today, Zen Zone is not just helping children. It is reshaping how communities think about difference — turning inclusion from a concept into a daily reality.
This is not just Aarav’s story. It belongs to every child who has felt unseen. Every parent who has refused to give up. Every family who has dared to define success on their own terms.
Aarav’s words, once silent, now travel across the world. His mother’s love has built Zen Zone, a sanctuary of inclusion and hope. Together, they remind us that neurodiversity is not a limitation.
It is, as Palak says, “a different kind of brilliance.”
Zen Zone – Where Every Step Counts. Because every child deserves to be seen, celebrated, and empowered.
At Voices of UAE, we believe in telling stories that touch the heart and open the mind. Aarav and Palak’s journey is shared here not to promote any business, but to celebrate resilience, creativity, and the beauty of neurodiversity. Zen Zone is mentioned only as part of their real-life path — a symbol of hope born from a mother’s love and a child’s brilliance. This story belongs to every parent who dares to believe in their child’s potential, and to every community that chooses inclusion over limitation.
