The Houthi-run Saba said that at least 12 people were killed and 30 others were hurt after US airstrikes hit the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, on Monday. The attack happened overnight and hit a market and a residential area in Sanaa’s Farwa district. The Houthi ministry called the strikes “attacks by the American enemy.”

Other airstrikes were reported on Sunday in different places, such as Marib, a central province, Hodeida on the western coast, and Saada, a major Houthi area in the north.
The US military has been carrying out nearly daily strikes for the last month. The US says it is attacking the Houthi rebels, who are backed by Iran, to stop them from attacking international ships in the Gulf.
One of the deadliest airstrikes took place on Thursday when the US hit the Ras Issa oil port, killing about 80 people and injuring 150, according to the Houthis.
The UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, said he was “deeply concerned” about the US airstrikes. However, he also asked the Houthis to stop firing missiles at Israel and ships in the Gulf.
The Houthis have said they started the missile attacks in support of Hamas, which is fighting Israeli forces in Gaza. The US airstrikes began in January 2024 but have become more frequent since President Donald Trump took office this year.
The fighting continues to cause many deaths and injuries, and the world is worried about the harm it is causing to innocent people in Yemen.
