The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is preparing to host a grand cultural event to celebrate the Indian community’s traditions and long-standing friendship with the country. The event will take place at Zabeel Park in Dubai on Sunday, October 26, and is expected to welcome more than 70,000 visitors from different nationalities.
The celebration, now in its second year, aims to honour the strong connection between the UAE and India, focusing on culture, unity, and community spirit. It will also highlight the valuable role the Indian community plays in the UAE’s social and economic life.
The event is being organised under the “Emirates Loves India” initiative, a program designed to strengthen cultural understanding and friendship between the two countries. Visitors will enjoy live performances, traditional Indian music and dance, and family-friendly entertainment. There will also be food stalls offering Indian dishes, representing the country’s diverse flavours and regions.
High-level attendance and cultural unity
UAE Minister of State Noura Al Kaabi and A. Amarnath, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, will attend the event. They will be joined by diplomats, business leaders, and members of both the Emirati and Indian communities.
In her statement, Minister Al Kaabi said that cultural exchange events like this show the deep friendship between the UAE and India. She added that the two countries share “mutual respect, cultural appreciation, and a shared vision for progress and peace.”
Indian community leader A. Amarnath also said that the UAE has always been a “second home” for millions of Indians. He thanked the UAE leadership for supporting the Indian community and encouraging cultural harmony.
A partnership built over decades
The friendship between the UAE and India has grown stronger over the years. It officially began with the Cultural Agreement signed in January 1975, which set the foundation for regular cultural and educational exchanges.
In 2017, the two countries took a major step forward by signing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement, which expanded cooperation in trade, culture, technology, and education.
A year later, the partnership became even stronger with the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which focuses on boosting trade and investment. CEPA aims to increase non-oil trade to $100 billion by 2030.
Since it came into effect in May 2022, CEPA has already shown strong results. Non-oil trade between the UAE and India reached $37.6 billion in the first half of 2025, a rise of 33.9% compared to the same period last year. This growth shows how both countries continue to benefit from their close relationship.
Cultural celebration with economic meaning
While the event is a celebration of art, culture, and friendship, it also reflects the economic strength and trust between the two nations. The UAE is home to over 3.5 million Indians, making it one of the largest Indian communities abroad. Indians play a key role in various sectors including healthcare, education, business, and technology.
The “Emirates Loves India” celebration at Zabeel Park will not only bring joy to families but also remind everyone how cultural bonds can help strengthen diplomatic and economic ties.
As both countries continue to work together for peace, prosperity, and progress, this event will stand as a symbol of unity and mutual respect between the people of the UAE and India.
