Abu Dhabi Meeting Between UAE President and Bahrain King
In Abu Dhabi today, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain to his residence. The visit highlighted the strong and fraternal bonds shared between the UAE and Bahrain, emphasizing their commitment to deepening cooperation at all levels.

During the meeting, both leaders and their guests engaged in discussions that underscored their mutual dedication to enhancing bilateral relations and advancing sustainable development goals. The aim is to meet the aspirations of their peoples for greater progress and prosperity.
Attending the meeting were Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs at the Presidential Court; and other key officials. From Bahrain, Major General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Adviser and Commander of the Royal Guard, and Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, were present.
In related news, Sharjah’s Ruler, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, has launched several new projects in Kalba. The initiatives include the “Kalba Gate” project, which will connect the hanging gardens to Al Hefaiyah Lake, and a new museum celebrating local heritage. The museum will feature exhibits on customs, traditions, and folk songs, and the park around the Khor Kalba Fort will be restored.
Sheikh Dr. Sultan explained the historical significance of the Khor Kalba Fort, which was damaged by a torrent from the creek. He detailed the restoration efforts and the creation of a park to showcase the fort’s remains. Additionally, the new museum will house a large Baghlah dhow and traditional tools used in agriculture and water extraction, aiming to preserve and showcase the region’s heritage.
The “Kalba Gate” project is designed to offer visitors panoramic views of the city and its surroundings, enhancing Kalba’s appeal as a tourist destination.
