In a significant move to support the Lebanese people amid ongoing challenges, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, has directed the initiation of dedicated education continuity programmes. This initiative aligns with the campaign launched by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, aimed at providing crucial assistance to Lebanon's youth impacted by current events.
The **Lebanon Education Continuity Project (2024-2025)**, managed by the **Digital School** under the **Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI)**, is a key element of the UAE's broader humanitarian response. This project is designed to initially benefit **40,000 students**, ensuring their continued education despite disruptions. By leveraging integrated digital platforms, it will provide educational resources for students as well as essential training and tools for teachers.

Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Secretary-General of MBRGI, emphasized the significance of this project, stating, “The Lebanon Education Continuity Project reflects the directives of our leadership to support the Lebanese people, particularly in the education sector, where many children are at risk of falling behind due to school closures.”
The initiative will utilize smart solutions and digital content aligned with Lebanon's official curriculum, offering crucial educational opportunities for students. It aims to support children in displacement centres by facilitating access to education through digital channels, even in areas lacking reliable internet connectivity.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also instructed the provision of emergency food aid through MBRGI in collaboration with the **United Nations World Food Programme**, targeting 250,000 people in Lebanon. This initiative is part of the broader **UAE Stands with Lebanon campaign**, launched in early October 2024 under the supervision of the **International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council**.
The campaign has received extensive community engagement, with contributions from diverse nationalities, including Sheikhs, ministers, dignitaries, and business leaders. Relief efforts have been coordinated across several Emirates, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Fujairah, facilitating the delivery of essential medical supplies, food, and items for women and children to Lebanon via both air and sea.
Investing in education and the dissemination of knowledge remains a cornerstone of MBRGI’s mission. The organization is committed to enhancing the quality of life through educational initiatives in developing countries, combatting illiteracy, training educators, and building educational facilities. It aims to equip students in underprivileged communities with the skills they need to thrive.
MBRGI also focuses on empowering Arab youth through programs that promote literacy and knowledge acquisition, preparing them for future challenges. The commitment to education as a fundamental driver of societal advancement is a testament to the UAE’s leadership and its dedication to supporting the Lebanese people during these trying times.
