During his visit, Sheikh Khalifa witnessed live artisan craft demonstrations, including Al-Sadu weaving, Talli embroidery, pottery making, and traditional rope crafting. He toured the traditional souk, which highlights the rich culture and heritage of the UAE through various displays of handicrafts, medicinal herbs, falconry tools, Arabic coffee, culinary experiences, and traditional clothing.
The festival serves as a platform for artisans, educational institutions, government bodies, and third-sector organizations committed to preserving Emirati heritage. It features a range of cultural activities and workshops designed to engage the public and emphasize the importance of protecting Emirati cultural heritage and craftsmanship for future generations.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of traditional performing arts and handicrafts, along with traditional games suitable for both adults and children. The festival also includes heritage competitions and educational workshops aimed at youth, providing an authentic Emirati culinary experience.
Celebrating the UAE's national identity and culture, the event collaborates closely with families in the handicrafts industry, offering them support to adapt to the modern consumer market. Additionally, it seeks to create new career opportunities for artisans by equipping them with the necessary tools and resources to innovate their business models and diversify their product offerings.
The festival is open to the public free of charge, with specific hours designated for school and university students from 9 am to 1 pm and for the general public from 4 pm to 11 pm. This initiative underscores the commitment to fostering a deeper appreciation of Emirati heritage and craftsmanship in the community.
