The 15th session of the Abu Dhabi-Singapore Joint Forum (ADSJF) was convened today in Singapore, co-chaired by HE Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, and HE Dr. Tan See Leng, Singapore’s Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry. The event brought together ambassadors from both nations, along with officials and senior representatives from key government and private sectors in the UAE and Singapore.
This meeting was part of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s official visit to Singapore and focused on deepening existing collaborations while exploring new areas of mutual benefit.

During the session, the co-chairs reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing the strong bilateral ties and the Comprehensive Partnership between the UAE and Singapore. Notably, the UAE has emerged as Singapore’s largest trading partner in the Middle East, with a total non-oil trade amounting to $5.8 billion in 2023. The discussions also highlighted shared interests in expanding cooperation in strategically significant sectors, such as financial services, fintech, the green economy, food security, water scarcity, government services, space technology, and peaceful nuclear energy.
HE Al Mubarak emphasized the forum’s importance, stating, “The Abu Dhabi-Singapore Joint Forum provides an invaluable platform for deepening ties and forging mutually beneficial partnerships in various sectors of shared interest. With the guidance of our leadership, the bilateral relationship continues to strengthen, yielding significant benefits for both our economies and societies.”
Dr. Tan echoed these sentiments, remarking, “The ADSJF has been our platform for economic engagements between the UAE and Singapore since its inception in 2008. The UAE remains Singapore’s largest trading partner in the Middle East, and the initiatives discussed today will pave the way for new growth opportunities for our business communities.”
A significant part of the forum addressed the pressing issue of global water scarcity, introducing the Mohamed bin Zayed Water Initiative (MBZWI), launched earlier this year in Abu Dhabi. This initiative aims to combat global water scarcity by fostering the development and implementation of breakthrough technologies and raising awareness of the importance of this challenge on the global stage.
For over 39 years, the UAE and Singapore have actively nurtured a productive bilateral relationship characterized by robust trade and investment connections, strong people-to-people ties, and strategic cooperation across various fields. The Abu Dhabi-Singapore Joint Forum was established in 2007, symbolizing a joint commitment to deepen bilateral cooperation and explore new collaborative opportunities.
