UAE Muay Thai Championship Draws Record 800+ Local and Continental Fighters

The UAE Muay Thai Championship ended after three exciting days at the Space 42 Arena in Abu Dhabi. This year, a record 824 fighters from 61 clubs took part in the competition. Men and women of different ages and weight divisions fought for the top prizes, and the fights were full of action.

The event was organized by the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, showing the UAE’s growing importance in the sport of Muay Thai. Fighters came not only from the UAE, but also from countries like Uzbekistan, Morocco, Iraq, Lebanon, Algeria, Palestine, Libya, and Tunisia.

The competitors were between 8 and 23 years old, all showing amazing skill and strength in their matches. The fights were intense, and the fighters showed great determination.

On the final day, 173 fights took place across four rings. This added to Abu Dhabi's reputation as a global center for Muay Thai. The championship helped discover new talent and encouraged the sport's growth. It also gave athletes a chance to show their skills on the international stage.

Special guests at the event included His Excellency Sorayut Chasombat, the Ambassador of Thailand to the UAE; His Excellency Amor Fritah, the Ambassador of Algeria to the UAE; Mustafa Jabbar Ulek, the President of the Iraqi Muay Thai Federation; Shaker Al-Shorouf, President of the Palestinian Muay Thai Federation; Yasser Salem Al-Saadi, Vice President of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation; Tariq Mohammed Al Muhairi, Board Member of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation and Secretary General of the Arab Muay Thai Federation; Jamshidbek Bekmurodov, Secretary General of the Uzbekistan Muay Thai Federation; and Ali Khouri, Board Member of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation.

Tiger Gym took first place in the medal standings with 34 medals, including 16 gold, 10 silver, and 8 bronze. Abu Dhabi Muay Thai took second place with 31 medals, 16 of them gold. Dragon Team Uzbekistan was in third place with 34 medals, including 15 gold. The Iraq National Team finished fourth with 14 medals, 9 of which were gold.

His Excellency Abdullah Saeed Al Neyadi, the President of the Asian and Arab Muay Thai Federations and Chairman of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, thanked His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, for his continued support.

“We are so proud of the great success of the UAE Muay Thai Championship. The level of competition, from both local and international athletes, was amazing,” said His Excellency Al Neyadi. “This championship helps make the UAE a leader in Muay Thai and shows Abu Dhabi as a top destination for combat sports.”

Al Neyadi also thanked all the federations, clubs, coaches, and organizers for making this event a success. He said that the championship was a big step forward for the growth and development of Muay Thai around the world.
