Arsenal Crush PSV 7-1 Away in Champions League Victory

Arsenal had a huge 7-1 win over PSV Eindhoven in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 match on Tuesday. Arsenal played an amazing game, scoring three goals in just 13 minutes in the first half and then adding four more in the second half.

Jurrien Timber scored first for Arsenal in the 18th minute, followed by 16-year-old Ethan Nwaneri and Mikel Merino in the 31st minute. PSV tried to fight back with a penalty goal by Noa Lang, making the score 3-1 at halftime.

But after the break, Arsenal scored two quick goals in the first three minutes. Martin Odegaard scored one and Leandro Trossard added another. Odegaard scored again in the 73rd minute, and five minutes before the game ended, substitute Riccardo Calafiori scored the final goal to make it 7-1.

This was Arsenal's biggest away win in European football, and they are now very close to reaching the quarter-finals. They will play either Atletico Madrid or Real Madrid in the next round.

The game started with PSV having a chance to take the lead in the 16th minute, but their shot hit the crossbar. Then, in the 18th minute, Declan Rice made a great pass to Timber, who scored with a header. The second goal came shortly after when Myles Lewis-Skelly passed to Nwaneri, who scored from close range.

PSV tried to stop Arsenal, but Arsenal kept playing well. Merino’s goal came after Timber fought hard to win the ball in the box. PSV did get a penalty just before halftime, but Lang’s goal only made the score 3-1.

In the second half, things got worse for PSV. PSV's goalkeeper made a mistake, and Odegaard took advantage to score. Then, Trossard made it 5-1. Arsenal didn’t stop, and Odegaard scored again, and Calafiori finished the game with the seventh goal.

Arsenal's strong performance made it almost impossible for PSV to come back. Now, Arsenal is in a very good position to move forward to the next stage of the Champions League.
