UAE Fuel Prices Likely to Drop in July as Global Oil Rates Ease

Motorists in the United Arab Emirates may soon experience some financial relief at the fuel pumps. The UAE government is expected to announce reduced petrol and diesel prices for the month of July 2025, with new rates set to be released on Sunday, June 30, and coming into effect from Monday, July 1.

The UAE’s fuel price committee reviews international oil market trends every month before deciding the updated fuel rates for the country. This monthly adjustment system, introduced in August 2015, aims to align local fuel prices with global market movements, ensuring transparency and stability in the economy.

For the month of June 2025, fuel prices in the UAE were as follows:

  • Super 98 petrol: Dh3.14 per litre
  • Special 95 petrol: Dh3.02 per litre
  • Diesel: Dh2.88 per litre

These rates were almost identical to May, reflecting little change. However, recent slight declines in global oil prices have raised hopes among residents and businesses for a reduction in July’s fuel prices.

The possibility of a decrease is welcomed by many car owners, taxi operators, and logistics companies, as fuel costs have remained relatively high in recent months, affecting household and operational budgets. A cut in prices, even if marginal, is expected to ease travel expenses and offer some breathing room, especially during the summer season when road trips and domestic travel are frequent.

Industry analysts suggest that lower fuel prices could also have a positive ripple effect on various sectors, including transport, delivery services, and retail, where fuel is a significant operational cost component.

The official announcement of the new prices will be made available on government portals and fuel company websites. In addition, fuel station apps such as Adnoc Distribution will update their platforms to reflect the revised rates from the first day of July. This will enable drivers to plan their fuel budgets efficiently and make informed decisions on refuelling.

The UAE’s fuel pricing system, by mirroring global oil price changes, has helped the country maintain a balanced economic approach, reducing the burden of government subsidies and encouraging prudent energy consumption among residents.

As Sunday approaches, drivers and businesses across the Emirates keenly await the announcement, hoping for some reduction in fuel prices to manage their travel and operational costs more comfortably in the coming month.

For continued updates on fuel rates, market movements, and economic developments, residents are encouraged to follow official announcements and reliable news platforms.
