The UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain continue to demonstrate how close regional partnerships can translate into real progress. Built on deep-rooted brotherly ties and a shared history, the relationship has evolved into one of the most consistent and productive alliances in the Gulf.
At its core, the UAE–Bahrain connection is shaped by common cultural and social values, reinforced by aligned development goals. Over the years, this foundation has helped both countries move in step across regional and international issues, supporting stability, peace, and long-term growth for their peoples and beyond.
As the UAE marks its 54th Eid Al Etihad alongside Bahrain’s National Day celebrations, the strength of this bond is especially visible. Decades of close people-to-people ties have been matched by strong diplomatic coordination, creating a relationship defined by trust, continuity, and shared purpose.
Economic cooperation stands out as a major pillar. The UAE is among Bahrain’s top three foreign investors, with cumulative direct investments reaching AED16.5 billion by 2024—around 10 percent of Bahrain’s total foreign investment inflows. Trade has followed a similar upward path. Non-oil trade between the two countries surged by more than 182 percent from 2010 to 2023, rising from AED9.1 billion to over AED25.7 billion, with total non-oil trade hitting AED231.6 billion between 2010 and 2022.
Investment flows reflect strong confidence on both sides. More than 1,500 Emirati investors are active in Bahrain, while over 7,000 Emiratis hold stakes in companies listed on the Bahraini Bourse. Bahraini investments in the UAE also remain solid, reaching AED5.1 billion by December 2023.
Beyond numbers, the partnership is visible on the ground. Emirati companies are delivering high-impact projects across Bahrain in energy, industry, infrastructure, transport, healthcare, sustainability, and real estate. Continuous exchanges of expertise are helping both countries raise competitiveness, build skills, and prepare talent for future-focused sectors.
Together, the UAE and Bahrain present a clear example of how shared values, coordinated policies, and practical cooperation can create lasting benefits—strengthening regional ties while steadily advancing toward broader prosperity for both nations.
