In a disturbing incident that unfolded in northeast Delhi, a 24-year-old individual named Faizan was tragically shot dead at a cafe in Maujpur on Thursday night. Investigators have revealed that the motive behind the attack was rooted in a personal grudge.
A video shared on Instagram by the suspect, who goes by the username 'moinqureshiii_', features an admission of guilt. In the video, he stated that months ago, Faizan had slapped him, which led him down the path of revenge. He emphasized that neither his family nor friends were involved in this act and that finances did not play a role.
In the footage, the suspect asserted, "I took Faizan's life due to a personal grudge. My relatives had no involvement. He slapped me four months prior, and that compelled my actions." He went on to reject assertions from Faizan’s family that a financial dispute was to blame for the attack.
Faizan’s brother, Salman, previously indicated that a loan remained unpaid and alleged that both the suspect and his father had confronted Faizan at home concerning the debt. He has since called for the arrests of both the suspect and his father.
The shooting took place approximately at 10:28 PM at Mr King Lounge and Cafe, where Faizan was discovered with severe injuries and was quickly transported to Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
According to Salman, Faizan sustained three gunshot wounds—one to the head and two to the chest—along with an injury to his hand.
Authorities have filed a case under pertinent sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act. Several teams are currently assigned to apprehend the suspect, while investigations continue to unravel the complete details surrounding this tragic incident.
