Tragic Blaze at Delhi Pediatric Hospital Claims 7 Infant Lives Several Critical

Tragedy struck Delhi late Saturday as a massive fire engulfed a children's hospital in the Vivek Vihar area, claiming the lives of at least seven newborns. The Delhi Fire Services responded swiftly to a distress call at 11:32 pm, dispatching 16 fire tenders to combat the blaze at the baby care center in East Delhi.

Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames, rescuing 11-12 individuals who were promptly transported to the hospital. However, despite medical intervention, seven infants succumbed to their injuries. Presently, five children are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Authorities are yet to determine the cause of the fire, though a case has been filed against the hospital owner. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed profound sorrow over the incident, pledging a thorough investigation into the matter and promising accountability for any negligence.

In a tragic parallel occurrence, three individuals lost their lives in a separate fire incident at a residential building in Delhi's Krishna Nagar early Sunday. The Delhi Fire Services received a distress call at 2:35 am and successfully contained the blaze by 7:20 am. Despite rescuing 13 individuals, three were tragically pronounced dead.

Earlier on Saturday, another devastating fire claimed the lives of 27 individuals, including nine children, at a gaming zone in Gujarat's Rajkot. Assistant Commissioner of Police Vinayak Patel described the bodies as "completely charred," making identification challenging.

President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended their heartfelt condolences to the victims' families, mourning the loss of life in these tragic incidents.
