When asked about her childhood in Serbia, Ana spoke with a blend of fondness and deep reflection. “Growing up in Serbia was both enriching and challenging,” she shared. “It’s a country with breathtaking natural beauty and a deep cultural heritage that nurtured my creativity and worldview. My early years were filled with joy, stability, and a strong sense of connection with my roots.”

This poem serves as a glimpse into Ana’s soul—a journey of self-reflection, transformation, and a deep yearning for a world united by kindness and compassion. “Writing and languages were always at the core of who I am,” Ana said. “They opened doors to new cultures and perspectives, shaping my path toward literature.” Her exploration of Sufism began during her graduate studies at Belgrade University, where she encountered Sufi poetry. “I was instantly captivated by its essence,” Ana explained. “The celebration of love for God and universal human values resonated deeply with me.” Sufism not only enriched her spiritual perspective but also inspired her Master’s thesis in 2009. “It’s a journey I continue to this day,” Ana said. “It taught me to find connections between my own faith, Orthodox Christianity, and other traditions, fostering a sense of unity and compassion.”
