The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has finalized expansions for two flagship projects under the Sharjah Collection: The Kingfisher Retreat and Al Badayer Retreat. This development underscores the emirate's ongoing dedication to enhancing its global tourism appeal.
The objective of these extensions is to augment capacity and offer visitors unparalleled experiences that prioritize sustainability and environmental conservation while seamlessly blending tradition with modernity.
Kingfisher Retreat now features twenty new rooms nestled within a unique mangrove ecosystem. Located on an island off Sharjah's east coast, the resort has garnered popularity for its family-friendly ambiance amidst mangroves. The latest expansion adds twenty additional tents, bringing the total to forty, including one-bedroom, two-bedroom, three-bedroom, and four-bedroom options, catering to guests seeking luxury and sustainability.
Alongside enhanced facilities such as a cutting-edge health club and gym, as well as dedicated children's entertainment areas, the expansion provides spacious zones tailored to guest requirements.
The island's appeal lies in its conservation center and diverse wildlife, offering nature-inspired activities like kayaking, boat rides, archery, and nature walks. Other amenities include bicycle rides, bonfire gatherings, and a property pool. Children can enjoy the Great Kingfisher Treasure Hunt, while everyone can explore the Mangrove Centre to learn about the ecosystem.
In Sharjah's desert, Al Badayer Retreat introduces fifteen new tents amidst its famed red dunes. Renowned for its traditional Emirati lifestyle experience, the retreat in Sharjah's central region offers an authentic setting appealing to nature enthusiasts and adventurers alike.
With fifteen new tents, the retreat now accommodates singles, families, and groups, totaling 25 luxurious tents and 21 rooms, featuring opulent furnishings and designs.
Shurooq's aim is to provide diverse tourism experiences that blend history, culture, and environment seamlessly. This expansion reflects that vision, integrating with the desert landscape to enhance Al Badayer Retreat's five-star luxury while honoring Arab and Emirati identity.
Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, Shurooq's CEO, highlighted their commitment to ecotourism and quality standards, stating that the expansions cater to rising demand for coastal and desert ecotourism, offering luxurious stays immersed in UAE culture and nature.
He emphasized that the expansions align with Sharjah's position as a premier investment and tourist destination, both nationally and internationally, solidifying its standing as a leading regional destination.
