Abu Dhabi Excellence Award Launched for People of Determination

Under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, the Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi has launched the Abu Dhabi Excellence Award for People of Determination. This award is part of the Abu Dhabi Strategy for People of Determination and aims to recognize the exceptional efforts of public, private, and third-sector entities in empowering People of Determination.

The award celebrates entities that provide inclusive services in sectors such as healthcare, education, transportation, tourism, and culture. These services improve accessibility to community services and help integrate People of Determination into the labor market, supporting their active participation in the country’s economic development.

The award focuses on improving the quality of life for People of Determination by providing exceptional services in healthcare, education, tourism, recreation, and transportation. It also recognizes the efforts of organizations that make facilities, services, and information more accessible to People of Determination, both physically and digitally. Additionally, the award promotes the integration of People of Determination into the workforce by encouraging organizations to provide inclusive workplaces.

The award aims to increase the representation of People of Determination in the national workforce and enhance their participation in economic development. It also seeks to promote more than 500 inclusive services in key industries, such as healthcare, education, tourism, recreation, and transportation. The initiative also supports over 600 public, private, and third-sector entities in becoming fully accessible, both physically and digitally.

His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi, emphasized the importance of the award, stating that the Abu Dhabi Excellence Award for People of Determination Inclusion is an integral part of the Abu Dhabi Strategy for People of Determination, which has achieved remarkable milestones in empowering People of Determination to contribute to the nation’s development. He added that this award reflects the UAE’s leadership in creating a society where People of Determination have equal opportunities. Promoting inclusivity in all sectors is key to helping them achieve their aspirations and contribute to the country’s progress.

Her Excellency Dr. Laila Al-Hayas, Executive Director of the Community Development Sector at the Department of Community Development, said the award highlights the commitment of Abu Dhabi’s public, private, and third sectors to improving the quality of life for People of Determination through inclusive services and initiatives. These efforts continue to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a global leader in providing a supportive and inclusive environment. She also added that the award will continue to honor those excelling in providing inclusive services for People of Determination, aiming to create a society that supports all members of this community and ensures their active participation in economic life.

This initiative will further position Abu Dhabi as a leader in inclusive development, ensuring People of Determination can fully contribute to the nation’s future.
