The 9th edition of the Summer Activities for People of Determination ended on a high note with a heartwarming closing ceremony. The event, filled with emotion and pride, featured a powerful performance by the ‘Al Himma’ Choir, which deeply moved everyone in the audience.
Held under the theme “Our Summer is Beautiful,” this year’s summer program was organized by the Dubai Club for People of Determination. The event lasted for six weeks and included more than 150 different activities, all designed to help people of determination learn, grow, and enjoy. These activities focused on four main themes: Future, Innovation, Sustainability, and Life Skills.
Around 200 participants and 100 volunteers took part in this special event. They were involved in sports, cultural programs, learning workshops, and fun games. Every activity aimed to build confidence, teach new skills, and bring joy to the lives of those involved.
The goal was clear — to create a safe, friendly space where people of determination could explore their talents, connect with others, and enjoy their summer in meaningful ways. Families of the participants also expressed happiness as they saw their loved ones smile and grow.
At the closing ceremony, Majid Al Usaimi, the Executive Director of the Dubai Club for People of Determination, gave a touching speech. He thanked the wise leadership of the UAE for always supporting people of determination and helping them achieve their dreams.
He said the Dubai Club works to turn the leadership’s vision into action by giving people of determination more chances to succeed in life — whether through sports, community events, or educational programs.
Al Usaimi also highlighted how athletes from the club have proudly represented the UAE at international levels. This success, he said, is thanks to the care and support they receive from the country’s leaders.
Majid Al Usaimi expressed his deep gratitude to the sponsors and partners of the club. Their continued support shows the true spirit of social responsibility and helps make such programs possible.
He also praised the hardworking teams behind the summer program — especially Fawzia Al Balushi, the Assistant Executive Director and Director of Cultural and Community Activities. He thanked her and her team for planning and running all the events so well.
Thani Juma Berregad, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Club for People of Determination, was also present at the closing ceremony. He joined in honouring the sponsors and partners who helped make the summer activities a big success.
The 9th edition of Summer Activities has proven once again that people of determination can shine when given the right opportunities and support. From building friendships to learning life skills, this summer was more than just fun — it was a journey of growth, inclusion, and happiness.
The Dubai Club for People of Determination continues to lead by example, showing that every person — regardless of ability — deserves a place to thrive, dream, and achieve.
