 The UAE is set to make a major leap in smart transport as Space42 and Korea’s Autonomous A2Z sign a landmark agreement to deploy Level-4 autonomous-driving technology across the Middle East and Africa. Announced during GITEX Global 2025, the collaboration marks a key step toward establishing a homegrown, advanced autonomous mobility ecosystem.

The joint venture, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, aims to bring next-generation autonomous solutions to the region while fostering local innovation and expertise. The partnership is designed to accelerate the adoption of intelligent transport systems, integrating autonomous vehicles into city infrastructure and commercial operations.

Proven Technology Meets Regional Ambition

Autonomous A2Z has already showcased its Level-4 autonomous systems as the official operator for APEC 2025, proving the technology’s readiness for large-scale deployment. Space42, on its part, has extensive experience in geospatial intelligence, AI-enabled traffic management, and smart-mobility solutions. Its TXAI robotaxi service has safely completed nearly 600,000 km and transported 20,000 passengers across major Abu Dhabi locations, including Saadiyat, Yas, Al Maryah, and Al Reem Islands.

The venture will support the development of a national ecosystem for autonomous mobility, training skilled personnel and integrating intelligent fleets into urban networks.
