His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended the graduation ceremony of 303 talented individuals in government communication and digital content creation. These graduates completed five specialised training programmes designed to improve their skills and prepare them for the future of digital media. The programmes were organised by the UAE Government Media Office and the New Media Academy, with support from various partners.

The ceremony was held during the third edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, the world’s largest event dedicated to the content creator economy. The summit, hosted by the UAE Government Media Office, took place from 11 to 13 January at Emirates Towers, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), and the Museum of the Future. Themed “Content for Good,” the summit brought together more than 15,000 content creators, 420 speakers, and 125 CEOs and experts from around the world.

During the ceremony, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed congratulated the graduates and emphasised the importance of investing in people and equipping them with the skills needed for the future. He noted that effective government communication is a key part of successful policies and initiatives. His Highness said, “In the UAE, we focus on empowering our people by giving them the tools they need to create a better future. Communication plays a vital role in connecting with people and sharing our values with the world. We are proud of these talented graduates and confident in their ability to represent our nation globally.”

Sheikh Mohammed also highlighted the UAE’s leadership in digital transformation and its goal of strengthening its global influence in digital media and content creation. He stated, “We are committed to maximising the opportunities in the digital sector, particularly in creating impactful content that inspires and informs.”

The event was attended by several senior leaders, including Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council; Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council; Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; and Saeed Al Eter, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Projects and Chairman of the UAE Government Media Office.

The graduation celebrated achievements from five unique programmes. The Executive Diploma in Government Digital Communication, a partnership between the Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government and the New Media Academy, graduated its third group of 27 government communication officials. This programme has now trained 86 professionals, focusing on improving communication strategies in line with global standards.

The Preaching Content Creators programme, developed by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) in Dubai, supported by the General Secretariat of The Executive Council of Dubai and the New Media Academy, graduated 35 participants. The programme taught them how to create digital content promoting tolerance and Islamic values over five weeks.

The Faris Al Muhtawa programme, developed by the New Media Academy, saw its fifth group of 51 Arab content creators graduate. These participants received training in creating engaging and meaningful digital content for diverse audiences.

Two programmes focused on educational content creation also celebrated their graduates. The Knowledge Makers programme, a collaboration between the Ministry of Education, the UAE Government Media Office, and the New Media Academy, trained 154 teachers and students. This programme resulted in the creation of over 5,000 educational video clips for local and global viewers.

Additionally, the Academic and Knowledge Content Creators programme, developed by the UAE University in partnership with the UAE Government Media Office and the New Media Academy, graduated 36 participants. This programme equipped them with professional skills to produce high-quality digital content in the academic and knowledge sectors.

The graduation ceremony highlighted the UAE’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering innovation in digital communication and content creation, further solidifying the nation’s role as a leader in the digital era.
