Sharjah is taking a major step toward enhancing access to justice and modernising its judicial services. His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Judicial Council, presided over a meeting at Bait Elowal, focusing on improving judicial efficiency and expanding legal services across the emirate.
During the meeting, the Council approved the establishment of two new Courts of Appeal in Kalba and Al Dhaid. These courts will handle appeals under the Judicial Authority Law, easing the burden on central courts and reducing case processing times. Residents in these cities will now enjoy convenient access to comprehensive judicial services close to home, ensuring fair and timely justice.
In a move to modernise the judicial framework, the Council also unveiled a refreshed corporate identity for the Judicial Council, the Department of Justice, and the Public Prosecution. Drawing inspiration from the Islamic design of the Department of Justice building’s dome, the new identity combines clarity, professionalism, and cultural authenticity. A balanced color palette, structured logos, and modern fonts unify the entities while maintaining individual recognition, enhancing the visual coherence of all official communications.
Digital transformation took center stage with the approval of new social media accounts and the launch of the “Sharjah Judiciary” platform. The integrated website and mobile application will allow users to track applications, submit requests, and access smart judicial services efficiently. This step reflects Sharjah’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve government service quality and provide a seamless, user-friendly experience.
The Council also discussed enhancing media performance and monitoring content on digital platforms to ensure reliable, transparent, and unified communication with the public. By aligning media strategy with the emirate’s values and legal standards, Sharjah aims to raise awareness, promote transparency, and strengthen trust in the judicial system.
With these initiatives, Sharjah continues to build a modern, accessible, and innovative judicial ecosystem, balancing tradition with cutting-edge technology to serve its residents better.
