Decision to Form the Police Judicial Council

One of the key announcements made during the meeting was the formation of the Police Judicial Council in the Emirate of Sharjah. This council is expected to play an important role in supporting police governance, maintaining justice, and ensuring accountability within law enforcement activities.

The Police Judicial Council will be led by Brigadier General Omar Ahmed Sultan Bu Alzoud as the Chairman. He will be joined by a group of highly experienced and senior officers as members, including:

  • Brigadier General Faisal Ibrahim Al Sheikh Nassar

  • Brigadier General Dr. Muqarrab Khalifa Abdullah Al Muqarrab

  • Brigadier General Amer Amin Mohammed Al Harmoudi

  • Brigadier General Abdulrahman Mohammed bin Ashour

  • Brigadier General Humaid Abdullah Al Musharrakh

  • Lieutenant Colonel Obaid Obaid Al Kindi

  • Captain Saeed Obaid Mohammed Al Naqbi

The formation of this council reflects Sharjah's commitment to improving the effectiveness and transparency of police operations. It is designed to ensure that police officers follow the law in all their actions, and it will also help resolve legal matters involving police personnel in a fair and professional manner.

Reviewing Government Performance and Services

During the meeting, the council members also discussed the overall performance of local government departments and institutions. They talked about how well these departments are doing their jobs and how they can do better in the future.

The Executive Council believes that high-quality public services are essential for the well-being of the community. Therefore, the council is regularly checking how different government sectors are working. These checks help to identify any areas where improvement is needed. The aim is to offer the best services possible to the people of Sharjah in sectors like health, education, transport, and public safety.

Approval of Organisational Structure for Sharjah Archives

Another important decision made during the meeting was the approval of the general organisational structure of the Sharjah Archives. The archives department plays a critical role in preserving important documents and historical records of the emirate. This helps maintain a strong connection to the cultural and administrative history of Sharjah.

With the new structure, the department will now be able to carry out its responsibilities more effectively. The council has also directed its General Secretariat to move forward with the necessary legal steps so that this new structure can be officially implemented.

This move is part of a broader plan by the Sharjah government to strengthen and modernize various departments. By giving each entity a clear structure and role, the government ensures smoother operations and better services for everyone.

Review of the Annual Report of Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment

A detailed discussion was held around the 2024 annual report submitted by the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment. This organisation has been doing important work to spread the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah among the people of Sharjah.

The report shared several key achievements and programs completed in the past year. One of the most impressive highlights was the number of Quran tutors who worked under the establishment. In 2024, there were 1,179 male and female Quran instructors who taught thousands of students across Sharjah.

There were a total of 1,465 Quranic learning circles that benefited around 32,636 male and female students. These learning circles are held in mosques and other venues across cities and towns in the emirate. They give children, teenagers, and adults the opportunity to memorize the Holy Quran in a supportive environment.

Additionally, the report mentioned the “Iqraa” circles, a special program aimed at granting participants the connected sanad, or chain of narration, to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). In 2024, there were 24 such circles, and they had 249 participants.

The report also noted several partnerships with other government departments, schools, universities, and correctional institutions. These collaborations help to bring Quranic education to more people, including those in rehabilitation centers.

Council Praises the Establishment’s Work

The Sharjah Executive Council expressed deep appreciation for the efforts of the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment. The council praised the dedication and passion shown by the teachers, administrators, and partners involved in this noble work.

The council stated that the institution is doing an excellent job of embedding the values of the Holy Quran and Sunnah into everyday life. Through its many programs and initiatives, the establishment is helping to create a society that respects and follows Islamic teachings, while also promoting peace, unity, and good character among its members.

The meeting of the Sharjah Executive Council this week was yet another strong step toward building a better, more efficient, and spiritually connected society. From improving police accountability to preserving historical documents, and from strengthening Quranic education to refining public services — each decision made during the meeting reflects the government’s strong commitment to the well-being of its people.

Sharjah continues to serve as a leading example of governance, cultural preservation, and community development. The efforts of the Executive Council, under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi and his fellow council members, are helping to shape a future that is secure, educated, and spiritually enriched.
