Shahid Afridi Ignites Controversy by Linking India to Bangladesh–ICC T20 World Cup Issue

The captain of Pakistan, Shahid Afridi, is in the spotlight once more as he criticizes the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding the dispute with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). His recent statements are particularly provocative due to their timing, occurring just weeks before the T20 World Cup 2026, and because he has implicated India in a matter some feel it shouldn’t be a part of.

This debate was sparked by a decision from the ICC to remove Bangladesh from the T20 World Cup 2026 roster, substituting them with Scotland. The ICC's choice came after Bangladesh opted not to travel to India for their slated matches, citing security issues.
