Selena Gomez is looking forward to becoming a mom one day! The famous singer and actress shared her excitement about having children in the future during a conversation on the Jay Shetty Podcast on March 24.
Selena, 32, and her fiancé Benny Blanco, 37, joined the podcast together. They talked about their relationship, their love for kids, and their plans for the future. The couple got engaged in December 2023 and are very happy together.
Selena Loves Children
During the podcast, Selena spoke about how much she adores kids. She said, "I don’t know what will happen in the future, but I love children. I have an 11-year-old sister, Gracie, and I adore her."

Selena also shared that making kids laugh brings her joy. "They are just so sweet, and I love spending time with them. When the time comes for me to have kids, I will be so excited," she said with a smile.
Benny Blanco Talks About Selena’s Shy Nature
Benny revealed something interesting about Selena’s personality. He said that Selena is very shy when she is around adults. "When she enters a room, she tries to disappear into the crowd. My mom is the same way," he explained.
But there's one situation where Selena is not shy at all—when she is with kids! Benny said, "Whenever there are kids around, that’s the only time I see her open up. She goes straight to them and talks to them for hours."
Selena's Connection with Kids
Benny believes Selena connects well with kids because she was a child star herself. "She started acting as a kid, so she understands them well. She has always connected with young people, whether it was from her time on ‘Barney’ or ‘Wizards of Waverly Place,’" he said.
Selena Once Planned to Adopt a Child
During the podcast, the host Jay Shetty reminded Selena about something she once said in an interview. In May 2023, she told Time magazine that if she didn’t find a partner by age 35, she would adopt a child.
Selena explained that she used to make plans for the future, but now she takes life as it comes. "I used to think, ‘I want this, I want that,’ but then I realized how lucky I am. My family is healthy, I have great friends, and if things don’t happen the way I planned, it’s okay. I’ve always wanted to be a mom," she said.
She also said she feels grateful to have found love with Benny. "I can’t believe I get to marry my best friend. Our bond is special, and that’s rare to find," she added.
Selena and Benny’s Love Story
Selena and Benny started dating in June 2023 but kept their relationship private for a few months. In December 2023, they made it official and shared their love with the world. In January 2024, they appeared together at the Emmy Awards, marking their first big public event as a couple.
Now, they are enjoying their time together and looking forward to the future!
