Ras Al Khaimah is dedicated to fostering a balanced and sustainable economy by enhancing production, exports, logistics, tourism, and manufacturing sectors. This initiative aligns with the UAE's objectives to decrease oil dependency and is in line with the UAE 2031 vision. Recent data underscores that this strategic direction is yielding encouraging outcomes across critical industries.
As per the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, there has been a notable surge in exports during the initial nine months of 2025. Chamber members exported goods worth roughly AED 7.6 billion, signaling robust demand from global markets. The third quarter marked a peak period, with over 9,400 certificates of origin issued, reflecting stable production and increasing international interest in products from Ras Al Khaimah.
Saudi Arabia continues to be the leading export destination, with Oman and Kuwait following closely. Iraq ranks fourth in terms of export value, while Qatar, Bahrain, and Egypt are emerging as significant markets. This diversified market reach demonstrates the emirate’s expanding trade relationships and decreasing dependency on a single country or region.
Officials indicate that investments in infrastructure, skilled workforce, and adaptable regulations have been instrumental in attracting foreign investment and establishing a robust industrial sector. Free zones like RAKEZ are crucial for promoting manufacturing, advanced technologies, and clean energy initiatives. Additionally, exports from these zones to the UAE local market have seen noteworthy increases.
Simultaneously, tourism is becoming a key component of economic advancement. In 2024, Ras Al Khaimah welcomed over 1.28 million hotel guests, marking consistent year-on-year growth. The emirate is poised for extensive hotel development, with plans for thousands of new luxury rooms.
By 2030, Ras Al Khaimah aims to attract 3.5 million visitors annually. Significant real estate and hospitality initiatives, particularly on Al Marjan Island and Jebel Jais, are anticipated to boost this ambition and enhance the emirate's status as a central hub for business and tourism in the region.
