A video showing Rangers fans causing trouble in Manchester has gone viral. The fans, wearing black clothes and covering their faces, threw bottles, fought with Manchester United fans, and scared people nearby. This happened before and during the Europa League match between United and Rangers. Despite police being ready with special equipment, the Rangers fans still caused chaos.

Reports say that several people were arrested for their actions on Great Ancoats Street. One witness counted 6-7 arrests. The police had been prepared for trouble, but they couldn't stop the fans from causing problems.

During the match, which Manchester United won 2-1, some Rangers fans got into the home side of the stadium. About 25 police officers had to come in to move the Rangers fans back to the away section of the stadium. Only 3,500 tickets were given to Rangers fans, but many more could be seen in the home area, causing complaints from both fans and the police.

After the game, Manchester United released a statement saying they would take "strong action" against anyone who sold their tickets to Rangers fans. They said they had done everything they could to stop away fans from getting into the home areas. The club also said that although their new digital ticket system made it harder for people to sell tickets, it was not possible to stop it completely. The club promised to investigate and take action against those responsible.

This is not the first time Rangers fans have caused trouble in Manchester. Seventeen years ago, when Rangers played Zenit St Petersburg in a Europa League final, over 100,000 Rangers fans came to the city. Only 13,000 had tickets, and the rest gathered in a fan zone in Piccadilly Gardens. This led to fights with the police. Around 42 people were arrested, and it was later called one of the worst nights of violence in Manchester since World War II.
