The main focus of the discussion was on how to strengthen the strategic partnership between DEWA and Huawei, especially in areas like digital transformation, smart grid technologies, and sustainable innovation. Both sides agreed to work closely together to support Dubai’s Clean Energy Strategy 2050, which aims to make the city one of the most energy-efficient and environmentally friendly in the world.
Al Tayer emphasized DEWA's commitment to being a leader in sustainability and innovation. He pointed out that DEWA’s investments in new technologies have helped it achieve world-class performance, outperforming top utilities in Europe and the United States.
The meeting also touched on several key areas for future cooperation. These included the development of artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, cyber security, and next-generation renewable energy solutions. Both DEWA and Huawei discussed how to expand their joint efforts in research and development, talent growth, and the testing of new technologies. They aim to create new solutions that will improve efficiency, sustainability, and safety in the electricity and water sectors.
Al Tayer also noted that the collaboration between DEWA and Huawei is essential for advancing Dubai’s clean energy goals and achieving the UAE’s net-zero emissions target by 2050. He expressed that partnerships with global leaders like Huawei are critical for delivering excellent services and improving sustainability in energy and water management.
In the future, DEWA and Huawei plan to work together on several projects, including managing Big Data, improving cyber security, and strengthening ICT infrastructure. Both parties agreed to continue working on new technologies and solutions that will enhance the services provided to customers, making them more efficient, safe, and sustainable.
