New Zealand and Bangladesh both had 21 points in the tournament, but New Zealand qualified because they won more matches—nine compared to Bangladesh’s eight. In the championship, all 10 teams played eight series, with four at home and four away.
India will host the Women’s World Cup in 2025. India, as the host, gets a direct spot, along with the top five teams. Australia topped the championship table with 39 points, while India followed closely with 37 points. England earned 32 points, South Africa got 25, and Sri Lanka had 22 points. These teams have all qualified directly for the World Cup.
The teams that didn’t qualify directly—Bangladesh (21 points), West Indies (18 points), Pakistan (17 points), and Ireland (8 points)—will play in the World Cup Qualifier. Scotland and Thailand will also join them in this qualifier. There are two spots available through the qualifier, and details about it will be shared later.
India is hosting the Women’s ODI World Cup for the fifth time. The last major women’s tournament held in India was the T20 World Cup in 2016. In 2025, eight teams will play 31 matches, just like the 2022 edition.
Australia, the winners of the ICC Women’s Championship, will be a strong team to watch in the tournament.
