Sharjah University of the Arts Appoints New Academy Directors

Sharjah’s arts education landscape is entering a fresh chapter as His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued a landmark administrative decision appointing new directors for the academies at the University of the Arts Sharjah.

Dr Peter Barlow, an accomplished figure in the world of performing arts, will now lead the Academy of Performing Arts, bringing years of experience in theatre, music, and dance education to the forefront of the university’s curriculum. His appointment is expected to strengthen the academy’s programs and expand opportunities for students to engage with global artistic trends.

Meanwhile, the Academy of Visual Arts will be under the stewardship of Dr Nadia Mahdi Al Hassni, a distinguished visual artist and educator. Her expertise spans painting, contemporary art practices, and creative pedagogy, promising a vibrant, innovative environment for students to explore and refine their artistic skills.
