The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club has made an important announcement for powerboat racing fans in the UAE and beyond. They have officially signed Mansour Al Mansoori, a young and talented Emirati racer, to join the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 powerboat racing team. This is a big step because he will be taking over from the veteran champion Thani Al Qemzi, who recently retired after more than 25 years of an amazing career in powerboat racing.
Mansour Al Mansoori is not new to the world of powerboat racing. Before this big promotion, he showed great skill and speed while racing with Team Abu Dhabi in Formula 2 powerboat competitions. His excellent performance, physical fitness, and technical skills impressed the team’s management and technical experts. They all agreed unanimously that Mansour is ready and capable of competing at the highest level of the sport, the UIM F1H2O World Championship. This championship is considered the most prestigious and challenging global powerboat racing competition.
Mansour will make his first official appearance for the Abu Dhabi F1 powerboat team at the opening race of the 2025 UIM F1H2O World Championship. This race will take place in Indonesia, marking an exciting new chapter in Mansour’s sports career. As the new face of the team, he will carry the hopes and ambitions of Abu Dhabi and the UAE on the international stage. The Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club expressed strong confidence in Mansour, praising his fighting spirit, determination, and high ambitions to succeed.
The club also promised full support to Mansour in his journey, aiming to help him achieve great results. They are hopeful that Mansour will continue to raise the UAE flag proudly in international powerboat racing events and keep Abu Dhabi’s leading position in the world championship.
Thani Al Qemzi, who Mansour replaces, is a legendary figure in powerboat racing. Over his 25-year career, Thani brought many victories and international recognition to Abu Dhabi and the UAE. His retirement leaves big shoes to fill, but the club believes Mansour Al Mansoori has the talent and heart to continue the legacy and bring more success in the coming years.
Powerboat racing, especially the Formula 1 H2O series, is a fast and thrilling sport where racers drive very powerful boats on water circuits at high speeds. It requires strong skills, quick reflexes, and great teamwork. Abu Dhabi’s team has been a strong contender in this sport, often winning medals and championships, and now they are eager to see Mansour Al Mansoori carry this tradition forward.
This announcement has created excitement among local sports fans and the UAE’s sporting community. Many see Mansour as a rising star who will inspire more young Emiratis to take part in marine sports and international competitions. His journey from Formula 2 to Formula 1 powerboat racing shows the strong sports development programs available in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
In summary, Mansour Al Mansoori’s signing is not just a team change; it is a new chapter for Abu Dhabi’s powerboat racing future. With his talent, energy, and the club’s full backing, the UAE looks set to continue making waves in the global powerboat racing scene.
