Sharjah has announced a major boost in housing and infrastructure development in Mahdhab Suburb, promising to double the work completed in the previous period. Over 6,000 plots are designated for housing, with 2,000 units already built and delivered to residents.
Construction of an additional 2,000 homes is underway, alongside essential infrastructure including major roads connecting Al Shanouf, Nazwa, and the Emirates Road. The suburb will also feature nurseries, schools, and other vital services. The nursery locations have been strategically relocated for easy access, minimal disruption, and adequate parking for parents. Government school sites are ready, with coordination underway for their development.
Young families form the majority of Mahdhab residents. To accommodate future generations, one-third of the plots—around 2,000—are being reserved for children of current residents, following a model successfully implemented in Al Zubair.
Mahdhab’s fertile land and rich groundwater resources are highlighted as a unique advantage. Water flows through multiple channels, ensuring that landowners can irrigate crops and maintain greenery across the suburb.
Community cohesion is also a priority. Residents are encouraged to report any issues, with measures in place to ensure swift solutions. Special attention is being given to homes divided into multiple units to prevent disputes and maintain family stability.
Efforts extend to land-leveling operations and social support programs. Housing beneficiaries are reassured that work is ongoing to provide stability, while employment is being optimized by reviewing staff performance to open opportunities for capable jobseekers.
Mahdhab Suburb is set to become a fully developed, family-friendly community, blending modern infrastructure with natural resources and strong social support.
