Dubai, United Arab Emirates — Myplant & Garden Middle East 2025, the region’s premier international B2B exhibition dedicated to floriculture, landscaping, and sustainable green innovation, is set to spotlight the remarkable horticultural heritage of Liguria and Piemonte. As two of Italy’s most renowned regions, their participation underscores Italy’s continued commitment to advancing global sustainability, craftsmanship, and agricultural innovation.
Taking place from 15–17 November 2025 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai, the event will serve as a dynamic stage for showcasing the traditions, technological advancements, and eco-friendly practices that distinguish Italy’s green economy. The two regions will present a shared exhibition space designed to offer visitors an immersive journey into their vibrant horticultural identities. The joint display will feature celebrated floricultural districts, pioneering agri-food research, and forward-thinking sustainability projects.
This collaboration reinforces Italy’s leadership in sustainable horticulture, biodiversity preservation, and landscape innovation. By integrating agriculture, research, innovation, and tourism, Liguria and Piemonte aim to cultivate new international partnerships and foster long-term regional development across the Middle East.
The Italian delegation will take part in a comprehensive institutional programme, including the official opening ceremony on 15 November, themed “Planting the Future: Building a New Narrative of Nature Through Landscape.” Distinguished speakers include:
Alessandro Piana, Vice-President & Regional Minister for Agriculture, Liguria
Paolo Bongioanni, Regional Minister for Trade, Agriculture and Food, Tourism & Sport, Piemonte
Lorenzo Fanara, Italian Ambassador to the UAE
Mirco Carloni, President, Agriculture Committee of the Chamber of Deputies
Representatives from the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
LIGURIA: A LEGACY OF FLORICULTURAL ARTISTRY & SUSTAINABLE TOURISM
Liguria’s presence, led by Alessandro Piana, will include senior representatives from the Distretto Florovivaistico Ligure, ANCEF, and InLiguria, the region’s tourism and territorial promotion agency. Luca De Michelis, President of the Distretto Florovivaistico Ligure (Confagricoltura), will contribute his industry expertise to the delegation.
Renowned for centuries of floricultural mastery, Liguria will highlight its craftsmanship, precision techniques, and innovative floral production. The region will also present its closely connected tourism offering—where nature, culture, gastronomy, and sustainability coexist to create a unique Mediterranean lifestyle experience. Visitors can look forward to live floral demonstrations celebrating the region’s creativity and botanical capabilities. “Liguria’s floriculture embodies passion, precision, and a deep culture of sustainability that reflects our land and our people. Participating in Myplant & Garden Middle East strengthens the dialogue between the Mediterranean and the Middle East and opens doors to lasting partnerships rooted in beauty, innovation, and environmental respect,” said Alessandro Piana.

PIEMONTE: RESEARCH-DRIVEN INNOVATION FOR FUTURE FLORICULTURE
Piemonte will be represented by Asproflor, known for supporting dynamic floriculture producers across the region and promoting the national “Comuni Fioriti” initiative, which encourages greener, more livable urban environments. At the exhibition, Asproflor will unveil “Office Landscape”, a conceptual installation that reimagines the workplace as a biodiverse, nature-inspired ecosystem promoting wellbeing and productivity.
Joining them is Fondazione Agrion, a leading agri-food research centre driving innovation through technology and interdisciplinary collaboration. Agrion will present two flagship projects:
“Natura tra le Pagine” (Nature Between the Pages) – focused on environmental education and biodiversity
“Il Giardino Terapeutico” (The Therapeutic Garden) – promoting water conservation, pollinator protection, and nature-centred wellbeing “Piemonte arrives at Myplant Middle East with top-tier floricultural production and a strong focus on high-quality agri-food excellence. As the Gulf region advances in sustainability and resource management, our technologies and expertise are ready to support these growing priorities,” said Paolo Bongioanni. “Pollinators are declining worldwide, and the need to protect biodiversity has never been more urgent. Bringing this message to Dubai reflects our responsibility to future generations,”added Giacomo Ballari, President of Agrion. “Our participation highlights the excellence of Piedmontese nurseries and our readiness to embrace new international challenges,” stated Sergio Ferraro, President of Asproflor.
Piemonte remains one of Italy’s leading agri-food exporters. In 2024, exports to Middle Eastern markets reached €1.9 billion, with the UAE accounting for over 30%, confirming its status as Piemonte’s most important regional trade partner.
A MADE IN ITALY CELEBRATION: LIGURIA & PIEMONTE HOST GALA DINNER
On 16 November, at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Liguria and Piemonte—together with the Consulate General of Italy in Dubai and Myplant & Garden Middle East—will host an exclusive Made in Italy Dinner, held during the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World.
Titled “Liguria and Piemonte: Two Italian Excellences to Discover and Taste,” the evening will showcase signature dishes, regional specialties, and culinary heritage to an audience of diplomats, industry leaders, media, and tourism specialists.
AN INSTITUTIONAL PARTNERSHIP BUILT ON CULTURE & SUSTAINABILITY
The Consulate General of Italy in Dubai affirmed its strong support for the initiative:“The Week of Italian Cuisine is a widely awaited celebration for guests and local partners who value our gastronomic heritage. Showcasing Liguria and Piemonte allows us to share our culture, support our businesses, and attract qualified visitors,”
said Edoardo Napoli, Consul General of Italy in Dubai.
