Latin America’s fast-growing digital economy, forecast to reach nearly US$950 billion by 2026, is entering a new era with the arrival of GITEX LATAM, the region’s first global technology and innovation showcase.
The event, organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and KAOUN International in partnership with ADESAMPA, will debut at Distrito Anhembi in São Paulo, Brazil, on 16–17 March 2027. It represents a defining step in connecting Latin America’s expanding digital potential with the world’s leading innovators and investors.
Brazil Takes the Lead in Latin America’s Tech Revolution
Chosen for its strong digital infrastructure and innovation-driven economy, Brazil stands at the heart of this regional milestone. The country is already a frontrunner in digital public services, offering unified online access to hundreds of government solutions and digital IDs to over 150 million citizens.

The Brazilian ICT sector is projected to touch US$259 billion by 2033, while the AI market is expected to hit nearly US$100 billion, reinforcing its role as a hub for next-generation technology and digital infrastructure.
São Paulo, the host city, adds weight to the announcement. Known as Latin America’s startup capital, it has attracted over US$33 billion in venture capital funding over the past decade and produced 11 unicorns valued at more than US$1 billion each.
A Global Platform Bridging Innovation and Opportunity
GITEX LATAM will be more than just a tech show — it aims to serve as a strategic bridge between global innovation ecosystems and the US$6.8 trillion Latin American economy. The event will spotlight advancements across key sectors including AI, agritech, cloud computing, cybersecurity, renewable energy, and healthtech.
Through this platform, startups, enterprises, and governments will gain unprecedented access to new investment opportunities, partnerships, and emerging markets. The initiative aligns with GITEX’s broader global network that now spans 14 countries and cities worldwide, further cementing its reputation as the world’s largest and most influential tech ecosystem.
São Paulo Positioned as Innovation Capital of the Americas
Hosting GITEX LATAM further establishes São Paulo as the nucleus of Latin America’s digital and entrepreneurial movement. The city’s robust infrastructure, thriving talent pool, and innovation-friendly policies create fertile ground for transformative business collaborations.
The timing also strengthens Brazil’s growing international partnerships. Following the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro and the 50th anniversary of UAE–Brazil diplomatic ties, both nations have pledged greater cooperation in AI, climate innovation, and renewable energy — adding global momentum to the region’s digital rise.
As GITEX LATAM prepares to make its debut, expectations are high that it will not only showcase technological innovation but also reshape the global perception of Latin America as a vibrant, future-ready digital powerhouse. The stage is set for São Paulo — and the entire region — to step into the global tech spotlight.
