Kamaal Rashid Khan, widely known as KRK, was arrested by the Mumbai police over a recent shooting incident in Oshiwara, Andheri. He has been named the main suspect.
The actor was taken into custody by the Oshiwara police late Friday evening and was brought to the local station. During questioning, KRK confessed to firing shots, using a licensed firearm. The police have confiscated the gun, and relevant legal documentation is being completed as part of the investigation.
The shooting occurred on January 18, with two rounds discharged at a residential complex in Nalanda Society, Oshiwara. Among those affected, one flat is owned by a writer-director and another by a model. Investigators found two bullets—one on the second floor and one on the fourth.
An 18-member Oshiwara police team, supervised by officer Sanjay Chavan, collaborated with various crime branch units to probe the case. Initial challenges arose due to the lack of suspicious activity in the surrounding CCTV footage. However, forensic evidence pointed towards KRK’s residence as the source of the shots.
Police sources have indicated that formalities for KRK's arrest are progressing and are expected to conclude by morning. The investigation remains active as authorities meticulously review all evidence to decide the subsequent actions.
This incident has garnered significant public interest, prompting discussions on safety and the misuse of guns in residential areas. Officials have stressed the commitment to stringent measures once legal procedures are finalized.
